Bewilder by CanisAlbus Bewilder by CanisAlbus
This pitch black Greyhound that has been appearing in my dreams several times during the past half year or so. It doesn't have eyes or any other distinctive features other than a wide red mouth and a set of clean white teeth, but it seems friendly. It's usually seen following the dreamer quietly or momentarily showing up in the distance, or lurking around as a part of a larger crowd. Sometimes there's a whole pack of them, but usually it's just this one.
I find this strange, because I've never had this kind of prominent repetitive element in my dreams before.

Staedtler pigment liner, Gimp.

Love the graphic style. Those decorative elements really give a sense of flowy and dreamlike.

Oooh. My only repetitive dream is infiltrating a glass building in the jungle. As I'm about to escape, I fall into a black pit and that's how the dream ends. I hope to hear more about this black Greyhound in the future!

Once I had a sudden narcolepsy attack (luckily I was sitting, I have never any previous narcolepsy attacks nor have I had any after ) and a dog barked and opened my eyes and the whole world was blue, even the dog in front of me- it was houndish in appearence, though the most striking feature against this blue world was it's yellow eyes. It looked down this cobbled stone road and I turned to look, but before I could see what it had barked at my sister shook me awake- I was in mid-sentence when this happened. I went to this school at the time and the psychologist for the school had dream studies under Freud and Jung so I asked him about the dream.

He said because the dog was non-threatening and seemed to be friendly or akin to me (as in traveling with me) that it's very possible it could be a sort of. Incarnation of someone's experiences in the collective unconscious- maybe an ancestor- the world was blue for the sole purpose of the golden eyes to standout; Yellow or gold are colors of security, or foresight. The bark was to get my attention, what was in front of us, what the dog was wanting to me to look at, was something it was trying to warn me about. The dog was trying to warn me of something- possibly something that memory of the collective unconscious person or ancestor had experienced or foresaw in the future.

I was like, Oh okay. I didn't know that this was Assassin's Creed. But alright. Anyways. Maybe your dog is someone looking out for you? Maybe it's an ancestor, or someone? Maybe it wants you to realize something  too? Unfortunately I haven't seen this dog again, so I may never know what he wanted me to know. Maybe he just wanted me to know that whatever is ahead, I'm not alone. That what I'm facing, others have too.

Anyways- I love your work as always- LOVE this piece. Fantastic job! <3

That's really cool that you remember your dreams in enough detail and clarity to be able to draw it out! My dreams always seem fuzzy, vague, and indistinct. This black greyhound silhouette guy is pretty cool looking.

I get repetitive stuff in my dreams like this, not usually being or objects but places. It's so odd. I'll have to try drawing them.....woo for inspiration! Thanks. >^-^<

That's actually a really cool reasoning behind it, it's one thing to make art but to attach a deeper meaning to it makes it all the more special

Wow. I really like the contrast in this one,  with the smoke dribbling and coiling up and over that solid black silhouette, which is broken  only by that maw.  The lack of eyes and the teeth lend a sinister aspect, yet the greyhound could simply be enjoying the run. I like the captured moment feel of  this,  where anything could  happen next.  And the movement. I really really really like this piece. Well  done!

Unieläimet on aina mielenkiintoisia, etenkin jos ne ilmestyy unissa toistuvasti. Mikäli tää koira esiintyy teikän unissa useamminkin, niin mielenkiintoista ois nähdä lisää arttia hänestä. :) Ehkä ajan myötä valkenee mikä tarkoitus sillä on.

We have had three pitch black greyhounds! (obviously with eyes tho) they seem to be the most common but we got them from G.A.P so couldn't pick colours and two of them we only fostered but we kept Ranger. Greyhound are big couch potatoes!

How you suggest form with such well placed curves and shapes and really brings this to life. It might be flat black but it still has so much substance. I think this is one of my favorite pieces of yours yet.

The patterns remind me of how after you wake after a dream too. When the dream clings to you for a bit while you lie there, and you feel like you're still in-between.

Apparently, a black dog symbolizes death or depression.

Regardless, though, this is really pretty!

Mut todella upea on tää kuvakin!

Sound's interesting!

The orange pattern that flows with him gives the greyhound an atmospheric touch <3
I love them!
Though he's just a shape of his appereance, he somehow gives me a completeness when I look at him. Like he's more than just a pitch black shape.

Although the whole drawing has warm colours, it still gives me a cold feeling. Like, I don't even know...
Like the colours are just a 'fake emotion'. It's like a cover from the reality. Amazing
