A new ID. The older one I had was starting to look... well, outdated. But since I really like the simple side view 'anubis pose' ID, I decided to just redo the earlier one. This piece is a couple of months old now though...
Machete's appearance has changed slightly since June 2011, as you may see. He's more like a hound now (longer limbs and arched back, plus the grayhoundtastic laying position where the belly doesn't touch the ground). Moreover he seems to get more and more snooty over time :/ (the original file name for this was "nirppanokka" which could be translated as "sourpuss")
I also pondered quite a while whether to use the red ribbons or the traditional ochre ones. I've preferred that scarlet set quite a lot lately, but these are the classic bandages.
This may also be a good time to make a few things clear about Machete's position as my character. Contrary to popular belief, this scheming pale canine is not my fursona.
As far as I'm concerned a fursona is an animal representation of it's creator, a person's self portrayed as a member of completely different species. I think fursona should, more or less, share it's creator's personality, interests, characteristics etc. even the appearance in some extent. Machete does not fit the criteria. He's different age and gender than I am, and his story line is set to a different country, in a different time period. And I'm not an albino nor a cleric, and I sure hope I'm not quite as cold, calculating and downright evil as my character.
However, Machete is, and always has been, my most beloved creation, a personal favorite, and oddly enough, from all of my characters the one I feel the most in sync with. I think a closer term for him would be sort of an alter ego, or perhaps a muse, since he still kind of has a mind of his own.
