Description
I remember being very fond of Bulbasaur and it's evolutions when I was younger. However, it was difficult to find a way to adapt Ivysaur's design to fit into my style. I think they look vaguely reptilian, but they also have those pointy mammalian ears and body proportions that make them seem like toads. In the end I decided that tortoise-like elements might suit Ivy and help to ground his looks a bit. I was very pleased with my interpretation until I remembered that the first generation starter lineup already had a turtle Pokemon; Squirtle.
