I kind of really like the way Machete lookswhen covered in ketchup with vivid red coloring. Red always seems to stand out as a color; it's aggressive, carnal and unapologetic, yet it can be stunningly sophisticated and regal, often at the same time. For the longest time it used to be among my least favorite colors (I liked blue and purple the most when I was a kid) but in recent years I've been finding myself using it and other warm tones more and more in my art. It packs a punch that I can't resist.
In Finland we have this idiom "maalata piruja seinille", "to paint devils on the walls". When someone is painting devils on the walls, they're expecting bad things to happen and tempting fate by speaking of the worst case scenarios out loud.
