Azrael suffers from a severe fear of the dark and is most commonly seen carrying a lantern, candles or other sources of light.
I also figured that he probably has some kind of medical reason for his rail thin appearance, a congenital digestive system abnormality, an internal parasite or hyperthyroidism, for example. He eats relatively normally, he's just unable to gain weight.

Great mystic work!
All of the background stories to your characters are so inspiring and interesting. I feel as if I learn something new every time you make another wonderful art piece.
You've actually inspired me to look further into a medical condition I have myself, and one I have given to my fursona I recently created, called Marfan syndrome. It's quite a complex disorder, and I always feel inspired by your works, since one of it's main traits is long skinny limbs, fragility in the muscles as well as many other things ><' In many ways I think that your style of art has helped me see a beauty in the condition that I once hated to have. I now look at it and see it as a strange kind of elegance, and don't feel so bad to have it myself c:
REALLY LIKED THIS <3
*fav and run
Underweighted myself too.
Are those markings on his legs or burn marks of some sort?

I didn't know vitiligo can be caused by hyperthyroidism, that's quite interesting!
I just finished the endocrine unit in my anatomy and physiology class, I didn't know it until then either! I'm not sure the hyperthyroidism causes vitiligo, but it is often associated with it.
