A little birthday gift to the marvelous *BlueHunter. The characters featured are Russian Borzois, Zarengold on the left belongs to Hunter himself and Vasiliy on the right is mine. I've always thought that these two wolfhounds would look nice together, so I couldn't resist drawing them~
I tried to include some kind of Art Nouveau-ish feel to it, as well as some stylization that reminds me of old soviet fairytale books. Personally, I think it fits the piece quite well.
So have a pair of Borzoi with crazy Mucha hair -I mean fur, all over the place.

Staedtler pigment liner, gouache, Stabilos.

Happy Birthday BlueHunter! c: Hope you like this, even if it's a bit belated~

Love this! Borzois are such elegant dogs. I think you capture that quite well, and I do agree that the style reminds me of Russian fairy tale art.

You can see the Mucha a mile off. The poses complement each other really well, adn the color is gorgeous.

Now I had so much time to think about a comment, but I still don't know exactly to how I should express myself confronting this beautiful artwork D;
It's sheer dazzling! And so I just rested countless minutes just looking at the artwork again instead of finding any comprehensive words! I mean, I liked Vasiliy when I first saw him appearing in your artworks. He always seemed like such a calm and reserved individual. On top of this, his built is very interesting and unique, being from a noble blood line as well! -

As I wrote to your poll, I always liked it when characters get drawn together to interact in their own ways - that you just drew him together with Zar took my breath away when I first saw it. Seriously, this picture is awesome on way too many levels ^
You managed to capture both their individual looks to be representative - I love to compare those two! - and still stylize the complete picture. I adore Mucha as an artist and just receiving an artwork from you transferring part of his features into your own style is just a pleasure to the eye. It has this Art Nouveau feeling I love so much, but yet this prominent old soviet fairytale feel.
This stylization and the coloration are phenominal, the background also adds a lot to the picture and I always like how you add your floral ornaments to the backgrounds. So inspiring as well.

But I'm dearly sorry, I'm not finding any right words, but I hope I could express my pleasure about this artwork at least slightly, I tried not to lose my senses too much.

And at this point I'd like to ask you if it was possible to actually receive this artwork? I would feel honored to frame it and put it to my wall (:
