Shinarendra sketches

Some scribbly thumbnails. Gestures, poses and expressions of Shinarendra, an Indonesian sighthound character of mine.

I figured that he must have suffered some kind of rather severe head trauma, which affected to his brains and senses. Due the damaged balance, his movements are uncontrollable and wobbly; he basically walks like a drunkard.

Maybe because of violated optic nerve or extraocular muscles, his eyes don’t always point in the same direction (a bit like those of a chameleon). Also involuntary mydriasis/miosis, vertigo, constant headache and occasional nausea occur as side effects.

Since head injuries are known to cause personality changes, he has become much more fickle, irresponsible and superstitious than before. He’s not deliberately evil or malicious though, and means no real harm for anybody. He used to be one of the most powerful canines in Southern Asia and known for his cunning tactics. No one really trusts or respects him anymore.
